After the earthquake Tundikhel stadium in Kathmandu has turned into a big camp. Thousands of people are living in tents and temporary shelters. Many international aid organisations deliver food and basic things for people living in the camps. People queue to receive their rations from an aid organisation handout. Not all of the camp residents have lost their homes. Many are still afraid to go back because of the constant small aftershocks that continue to shake the ground.
On 25 April 2015 a powerful earthquake of 7.8 magnitude struck central Nepal, causing widespread destruction and killing approximately 7,760 people (29 April estimate).
