Selina Nganikani (22) was married at age 11 but was rescued and is now living in Karonga. LISAP helped get Selina back into school, supporting her with school fees, school uniform and books as well as providing her with necessities like soap and sugar. The Livingstonia Synod AIDS Programme (LISAP) 'coordinates the HIV & AIDS activities of the Church of Central Africa, Presbyterian (CCAP) Synod of Livingstonia and mobilises and empowers communities to initiate and sustain HIV & AIDS interventions with a Christ centred spirit.' (LISAP website). Its Girls and Boys Empowerment Project funds increased access to education as an early intervention method to HIV/AIDS prevention.
