Environmental activist Natalia Kalinovskaya stands on a strech of beach that has been covered in concrete slabs in preparation for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games. However, both environmentist, like herself, and local residents have attacked this as unnecessary and destructive. The seaside holiday town hosts the 2014 Winter Olympic Games however, the Games have been plagued by accusations of corruption, shoddy construction, cost-overrun and environmental damage. While some of the migrant labourers working on the venues have complained of withheld wages and poor treatment.
