The burned down Harbour Light Pub in the Rockaway Beach area of Queens. The tidal surge caused by the storm resulted in immense water damage but also broke gas supply lines that caused fires to ignite which spread rapidly in high winds. Tropical Storm Sandy hit New York and other parts of the north eastern United States on the evening of 29 October 2012.
