Farm labourers, who earn less than a dollar a day, register with an overseer prior to hand harvesting maize in order to collect the seeds for replanting at the Jittu farm. The Saudi based oil and construction billionaire Sheik Mohammed Al Amoudi owns this farm. He was born in Ethiopia and now owns 100 million hectares of agricultural land in the country and has plans to invest in another two million hectares. The crops that are grown on his land are mainly exported.
