Kwanduk, an eagle hunter with his bird. The birds are carried on a thick glove and released, from horseback, to catch prey. The tradition is believed to originate in Central Asia some 6000 years ago and is generally a winter sport, as that is when the prey has grown its sought after winter pelt. The birds are Golden Eagles and weigh up to seven kilos with a wingspan in excess of two metres.
