Dahir is spoonfed milk by his mother Halima in the Wajir District Hospital, where he is recovering from severe malnutrition.  A severe drought has extended across East Africa after the rainy season expected in October 2005 failed to arrive.  Diarrhoea is the primary health risk in the region during the drought, due to bad sanitation and people drinking contaminated water or animal milk..
