Indriche Noel, the president of the committee that looks after the primary irrigation canal, clears weeds from the channel. This canal was built many years ago and never functioned well because of errors in its construction. Now the Belgian NGO Protos is rebuilding the canal as it is very important for the farmers in the area because they can double their harvest with irrigation water.
