On 13 November 2015, coordinated attacks at six locations across Paris by nine terrorists affiliated with the so-called Islamic State claimed the lives of 130 people, with more than 360 people injured. Some 89 people were killed in the Bataclan music venue alone. Seven of the attackers died at the scene of the atrocities and two others are thought to have been killed in a police shootout in St Denis on 18 November 2015.
