A woman hoists a bucket full of clams from a boat onto the banks of one of the many water channels that run among the mangroves. Women dive as deep as four metres to collect the clamps that they cook and then sell on skewers in nearby cities. Entire islands, like Kimwabi, are built on empty shells.
