A tsunami struck the coast of Thailand on the morning of December 26. The destruction was great in Khao Lak, north of Phuket, Thailand, were thousands of tourists and locals died. Large holiday resorts were reduced to rubble. Since then hotels have been rebuilt an new resorts have sprung up. There are now several thousands more hotel beds in Khao Lak than before the tsunami. The Dahlström family from Sweden stayed in one of the new hotels in November 2009, built on land that was open when the tsunami struck. From left: Jörgen, Erik, Johanna and Sara Dahlström.
