Piles of wood, from recently felled trees, that will be used for the manufacture of charcoal. Charcoal production is a big issue in the region as it is both a cause and a result of the growing deforestation of the wider Chaco area. The need for new land for agribusiness drives deforestation in the province where the forest surface area has reduced from 70% to 20% in the last 20 years.
