Farmer Greg Younghusband drinks beer with fellow farmers after burning approximately 130 bales of hay that have been destroyed by mice, valued at $200-$250 each, are set on fire at the farm of Greg Younghusband whose farm was overrun with mice about a month before. The mice destroyed two fridges, his washing machine and dryer and the sofa and chewed through bedsheets and clothing. He lost 1,500 hay bales in total. In 2021, farming areas in southeastern, southern and western Australia faced a massive infestation of mice which ruined millions of dollars worth of crops and animal feed.
