Iraqi-Americans refugees, settled in Detroit, Michigan, greet family members arriving from Baghdad at the airport. Iraqi Christians who came to the United States for work in the auto industry, following the Iran-Iraq war and during the aftermath of the 1991 Gulf War, have a well-established community in the northern suburbs of Detroit. They are being joined by a new population of Christians who, in Iraq, are being persecuted by Islamic extremists.
