Two Ukrainian women read Svoboda (Freedom) newspapers on United Day, a celebration of the reunification of western and eastern Ukraine in 1919 after World War I. On this day civic leaders and ex-Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko called on citizens to gather in Kiev to support demands for early parliamentary elections.
