45 year old Emem Ali stands with his son. He was attacked by a tiger in 2008. The tiger grabbed him by the arm and dragged him away into the forest. Then, for some unknown reason, the tiger ran off and left him. His companion carried him home after the attack. The region is home to approximately 500 Bengal tigers, one of the largest single populations of tigers in one area. These tigers are well-known for the substantial number of people they kill; estimates range from 50-250 people per year.
