The Hammarby Sjostad district, a former brownfield site, is now being redeveloped to provide environmentally friendly, ecologically sustainable residential housing. When completed, the development will include around 9,000 apartments for approximately 20,000 residents. The development, which is expected to be finished in 2015, will be one of Stockholm's largest eco projects.
