Fire fighters spray water onto forest as the Green Wattle Creek fire, just south-west of Sydney, heads towards them. The fire burned at an emergency level threatening lives and homes. Firefighters warned that the fire, which has already burnt out more than 35,000 hectares of land, was still burning out of control. Three firefighters working in the vicinity were flown to hospital while residents were been forced to evacuate their homes.
