Members of the security forces rest during clashes with a group of anti-government protestors, consisting mainly of teenage boys, who had built a barricade on Rasheed Street.

Since the beginning of October 2019 huge anti-government protests have shaken the country. People demanding reforms and an end to corruption and foreign intervention have been met with fierce brutality from security forces. In October alone more than 200 people were said to have been killed.
