Isaac Levi locks the front door of the synagogue on Flower Street. Levi and Zavolan Simantov are the last Jews of Kabul. Both are tenants in the building and have maintained a feud for years, refusing to speak to one another. They both stayed in Kabul throughout the reign of the Taliban, at times informing on each other and as a result were each imprisoned at different times.
