Heena (not her real name) teaches young children from her village. Heena was forced into prostitution at the age of 12 by her parents, but has recently started studying as well as teaching. Heena is from the Bacchara community, who, as a dalit - or untouchable - is excluded from mainstream society. Their involvement in commercial sex work increases their "untouchable" stigma which leads to them being further ostracised. The money that these young girls earn as prostitutes is far more than the miniscule amounts earnt by dalit farmers, which leads to many girls being forced into prostitution by their families.
