Oumou Sangare is enthusiastically welcomed local residents in a residential community in Bamako. Sangare is one of Mali's biggest stars and has become internationally renowned for her singing of traditional Wassoulou music, a musical tradition which originated in southern Mali and derives from traditional hunting songs.
