A Plant Health Clinic on market day in a village near Machakos. Farmers visiting the market can come to see a plant pathologist and show them samples of their crops. The professionals, sitting behind a table, use their knowledge, a microscope and reference material to diagnose the disease, virus, parasite or other problem the crop is suffering from. With the doctor's prescription farmers can get the right pesticides or treatment for their crops. The Plant Clinics are organized by CABI (Centre for Agricultural Bioscience International) Africa, part of an international crop science institute.
