A man irons uniforms in Dhobighat, the open air area where the city's laundry is washed by an army of dhobis (laundry person). It is here that the laundry for all strata of the city's society is washed by hand. From hospital sheets to hospitality table cloths, from garment factory pieces to the everyday items from people's homes, it is washed, dried and returned to its owners.
