Ivan, his mother in law Klara, their children and other family members in Ostrovany's Roma settlement. In 2010, the town of Ostrovany received international media attention when a wall dividing the private gardens of the non-Roma community from the neighbouring Roma settlement was built. The wall was constructed by the town council, who consider it to be a 'fence' not a wall, following complaints of theft from people's gardens. Ivan says of this: 'Anyway we have nothing. We are not complaining, they were complaining about us that we are stealing from the gardens and the mayor decided to built the wall.'
