Sam Ganafa, a LGBT activist, with the national tabloid newspaper Red Pepper that, on the day following the enactment of a law allowing for life sentences for homosexuals, published a list of 200 people, including their full names, that it described as 'Uganda's top 200 homos.' Since the new law and the article a climate of fear has spread among the members of the country's gay and lesbian community many of whom have since been going into hiding or leaving the country.
