Funeral Director Javid Akhtar, with the help of volunteers from the local community, moves a body, collected from a local hospital, to the washing room at the Ghamkol Sharif mosque in Small Heath. A temporary mortuary has been set up in the mosque's car park to help the city cope with the huge increase in the number of dead caused by Covid-19 but in this case the deceased tested negative for the novel coronavirus and was therefore washed in accordance with Islamic tradition.
