On December 30th, a group of young men will take an oath and become fully-fledged soldiers in the Polish army. Like generations before them, they will feel a mix of pride and nervousness as they prepare to serve their country. But as they embark on their nine month journey, an end point is being marked. After ninety years of compulsory military service, the Polish government has decided to bring a close to conscription.
