Aliya Furad (left) is a student at the Health Science Institute in Hodeidah. Her mother died in childbirth when she was one and a half years old. She says: 'When I was little I had no dreams, other than being educated and maybe having some work.' Many of the young women at this college come from the surrounding countryside and the plan is that they will return to work in their villages where there is one midwife for every 8,000 people. .
