Duch (real name Kaing Guek Eav) was chief executioner of the Khmer and responsible for Tuol Sleng, where over 16,000 people were killed between 1975 and 1979. Photographer Nic Dunlop unearthed Duch working with the American Refugee Committee in 1999. He is currently awaiting trial. The photograph was taken by the Khmer.
