View of Vaduz, the main city of the tiny German speaking principality, overlooked by the castle which owned by the royal family, who have their hands on the levers of power, and a major interest in the banking industry which many outsiders regard as thriving on tax avoidance and money laundering. An estimated 75,000 companies are registered here, twice that of the population. The royal family have the power to veto laws, dissolve parliament and appoint judges.
