Part of the exterior of the Bauhaus Style Thermometer House at number 5 Frug Street, designed by architect Yehuda Liulka in 1936. Tel Aviv is known as the White City in reference to its collection of 4,000 Bauhaus style buildings, the largest number in any city in the world. In 2003 the Bauhaus neighbourhoods of Tel Aviv were placed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
