A detail in the lobby of the Bauhaus style Yeruchilimsky House at 26 Balfour Street built, in 1934, by architect Shlomo Flato. Tel Aviv is known as the White City in reference to its collection of 4,000 Bauhaus style buildings, the largest number in any city in the world. In 2003 the Bauhaus neighbourhoods of Tel Aviv were placed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. .
